Welcome to the HOPE Centre!

The Ross River HOPE Centre was established with the firm belief in 1 Peter 1:3-5 which says:

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade - kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time."

It matters not what your life has been up until this point.  It matters not what sins you have committed, who you have hurt or what you have done.  It matters not what the colour of your skin.  It matters not what difficulties you have encountered or what pain you have been through.  Christ says, "Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest," Matthew 28:19.

Without the help and provision or our Lord and Saviour, the Ross River HOPE Centre would not be standing today.  It is our prayer that the HOPE Centre and the activities that take place here will help people see that Christ is the answer to any and every challenge that we face.  He is the ONLY One worthy of our faith and trust.

Founders

Tim and Gwendy Colwell

Tim and Gwendy, along with their five children, have lived in Ross River since February 2001.  Their passion and vision is to see the people of their community come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Their outreach ministries include: home visitation, evangelism, discipleship, Kid's Bible Club, Summer Bible Camps, Bible studies, and leading worship services.  Over the course of their ministry a small church, the Dena Dadengak Koa, has been established in Ross River.  Out of this church, The Ross River HOPE Society was founded, which operates the HOPE Centre.
